DAY 02 : POSTOJNA CAVE, PREDJAMA, ŠTANJEL / LJUBLJANA - POSTOJNA CAVE, 55 KM / POSTOJNA CAVE-PREDJAMA CASTLE, 15KM / PREDJAMA CASTLE-BALANCE 55, KM /

After breakfast we will depart by a modern, comfortable bus to the cave, which at the time of Austria-Hungary constituted the only exit to the Adriatic Sea. Postojna has a favorable geographical position, as it lies at the crossroads of routes between Vienna and Trieste. It is best known for its cave, which has been visited since prehistoric times. The cave is a network of 23 kilometers of tunnels, galleries and halls in which experienced guides have accompanied more than 30 million visitors in over 200 years. This is the biggest classical karst cave and the most visited tourist cave in Europe.

The cave train will take you into the depths where, thanks to the electric lighting, you can appreciate all the dimensions and nuances of the underground karst where the geological past is written in a unique way. Only 15 km from the Postojna Cave stands one of the most picturesque wonders of human history - Predjama Castle. The castle has stood for over 700 years in the 123-meter cliff as a powerful, defiant and impregnable fortress as well as the perfect for secret home of the bold, headstrong and rebellious Erazem Predjama. Photo stop.

After a delicious lunch in a domestic tourist farm in Karst, we will head to the mysterious, yet wonderful region of southwest Slovenia. First, we will visit one of the most picturesque and oldest settlements in the Karst region, Štanjel. From as far back as prehistoric times a fort resided atop the hill, which was later strengthened by the Ro-mans. The settlement spread in the Middle Ages and was later enclosed with defensive walls by the Turks. The main part of the settlement features a castle and a church of Saint Daniel, giving Štanjel a unique look.

The castle was originally owned by the Counts of Gorica, and later the Habsburgs, Cobenzlov and many other families. A stroll through the narrow streets Štanjel will feature stone houses, portals and other characteristics of masonry. The Church of St. Daniel was written about in the second half of the 15th century. In 1609, a bell in a shape of a lemon was added to the late Gothic church. At the conclusion of the tour, you are invited to the gallery and souvenir shop in the Kobdilj Tower (Tower at the door). An interesting transition from the stone part of the settlement to the green surroundings is Fer-rari's garden, a unique work by the renowned architect Max Fabiani.

We will then continue to the oldest producer of smoked ham in the Slovenian Karst region, which will show us the production process of Karst ham: how to prepare the fresh pork legs in order to make prosciutto. Following the demonstration are unfor-gettable, traditionally adorned Karst tasting rooms, where the delicious, dried Karst meat dished can be sampled with homemade Karst Teran. After the visit we will return to the hotel in Ljubljana.

Arrival at the hotel in late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel in Ljubljana.

DAY 03 : LJUBLJANA, KAMNIK / LJUBLJANA-SKOFJA LOKA, 30 KM / / SKOFJA LOKA – KAMNIK, 34 KM / / KAMNIK – LJUBLJANA, 30 KM /

Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a Central European city lying between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, in the basin at the confluence of the Sava and Ljubljanica Rivers. Ljubljana has all the facilities of a modern capital, yet it has maintained the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of a small town. We will first take a walk on foot through the old part of town along the Ljubljanica River and see the most im-portant cultural and historical monuments including the Three Bridges and the New and Old Markets where we will be delighted with boutique shops and nice restau-rants. We will also stop at the famous bridge and learn a few secrets of the medieval city before the path con-tinues to the town square with the Town Hall and the city icon - a well symbolizing the three rivers of Carniola. We will also visit the nearby baroque church of St. Nicholas, the food market and the Dragon Bridge with its four dragons that protect the city while also serving as its trademark. With the funicular railway we will climb to the castle which rises above the town, see a presentation of the de-velopment of the city in the Virtual Museum and finally climb the castle’s tower and enjoy the view over the city and its green surround-ings.

Feel free to have lunch atop the castle hill, and afterwards we will explore the medieval history of Slovenia by touring the oldest Slovenian towns of Škofja Loka and Kamnik. Skofja Loka was the center of the Loka domin-ion for 830 years and the last Freising bishops left an indelible mark on the place. The Old Town boasts many attractions of past times, including the Loka Castle, built well before 1202, which reigns over the city and presents Skofja Loka with best-preserved medieval town in Slovenia. After an excellent cup of coffee in the central Loka market in the oldest restaurant in the city we will continue the path to the next medieval jewel, Kamnik. The pictur-esque town on the river Kamniška Bistrica experienced the largest boom in the Middle Ages, when it was even the capital of Carniola for some time. The medieval architectural design of the old town and the castles of Zaprice and the Little Castle testify to its former splendor. After the Middle Ages the city established itself as a flourishing craft center with a mint, during which time the city became home to several prominent noble families. Arrival at the hotel in late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel in Ljubljana.

DAY 04 : BLED, ZELENCI, PLANICA, KRANJSKA GORA / LJUBLJANA – BLED, 65 KM / / BLED – ZELENCI – PLANICA, 50 KM / / PLANICA - KRANJSKA GORA, 15 KM /

After breakfast, we will depart to the beautiful and mountainous northwest of Slovenia. The first stop will be in Bled. The town of Bled, with its alpine lake, glacial origin, the famous island-living goddess, and the oldest castle in Slovenia, is one of the most prestigious Slovenian resorts. Bled has been the most popular tourist resort in Austro-Hungarian Monarchy since the 19th century Swiss doctor Arnold Rikli discovered its ideal natural conditions and founded a health center there.

We will take you to Bled Island, which has been visited by pil-grims since ancient history, by a traditional boat called Pletna. From the castle, we will admire the unbelievable beauty of the lake and the high peaks of the Julian Alps. The path continues to a traditional Slovenian inn, where we will serve you proper Slovenian food. After lunch we will head into the heart of the Julian Alps.

First, we will enjoy a brief stop in Zelenci, which is a natural reserve on the border of three countries (Slovenia, Italy and Austria). The unspoiled nature of Zelenci, with numerous springs and emerald green lake, has found its place on the canvas of Ladislaua Benescha and in the words of Davyjevih. From Zelenci we will head to Planica, a picturesque alpine valley carved out by glaciers and known for its ski jumps, where annual events and competitions for the World Cup are held. At the famous hill, many world records in the length of ski jumps were achieved. The world re-cord is currently 240m, reached by Norwegian Bjørn Einar Romøren. On the way to Ljubljana we'll stop in Kranjska Gora, which is a popular sport and tourist center, famous for not only its winter sports but also for its natural beauty and exceptionally scenic walking, biking, hiking and climbing routes. We will also bear witness to a 300-year-old Lizenjakove house, which was a restau-rant in the past. Arrival in Ljubljana in the evening. Dinner at the hotel in Ljubljana.

DAY 05 : STIČNA, OTOČEC, KOSTANJEVICA, KOSTANJEVICA MONASTERY / LJUBLJANA – STIČNA, 33 KM / / STIČNA-OTOČEC 42 KM / / OTOČEC-KOSTANJEVICA KRKA 28 KM / / KOSTANJEVICA MONASTERY-20 KM / / KOSTANJEVICA MONASTERY-LJUBLJANA 120 KM

After breakfast we will depart on a one day trip along the southeastern part of Slovenia. The first stop will be the mighty Cistercian monastery, which is the only operating Cis-tercian monastery in Slovenia and one of the greatest cultural, religious and architectural monuments in the country. Its origins date back to 1132, during the Romanesque pe-riod.

The monastery soon became the religious, ecclesiastical, cultural and economic center of Carniola. The monastery library contains valuable illu-minated manuscripts in Latin from the 12th and 13 centu-ries. There will be a guided tour of the Museum of Chris-tianity in Slovenia as well as the monastery, basilica and cloister. After the visits we will con-tinue the path towards the castle Otočec, a jewel that rises from the mists of the Krka River and is the only water castle in the Slovenian territory. Its foundations were laid in the Middle Ages, and today's appearance dates from the Renaissance. It has stood on one of the islands of the Krka River since the 13th Century, but today it is a luxury hotel and restaurant. Photo stop and walk through the castle park.

The path leads us onwards towards Kostanjevica, the smallest and one of the oldest Slovenian towns. It is a true wonder of nature and fully justified in bearing the full name Kostanjevica on the Krka, as the old part of town is located on an island in the Krka river. It was first mentioned in 1220, and because of frequent flooding in the past, the town clung to the nickname "Venice of Dolenjska" as movement about the city was sometimes only possible with the boats. Photo stop. A delicious homemade lunch will be served to us in an excellent local restaurant. After lunch the trail continues to the Carthusian Monastery, where we will look at an old Gothic church and a wonderful out-door museum. With the help of a guide,we will try to approximate the lives of Carthusian monks. We will then drive back to Ljubljana, where we will arrive late in the afternoon. Dinner at the hotel in Ljubljana.

DAY 06 : PIRAN, PORTOROT, LJUBLJANA-MALL BTC

After breakfast we will travel to the Slovenian coast. We will first stop in Piran, a romantic town that has retained over time its medieval design of narrow streets, tightly compressed houses which rise in steps uphill, contact with the sea, countless markets and ten churches. Tartini Square, which proudly adorns the center of town, is named after a famous violinist Giuseppe Tartini, who bore the name of Piran to the world. After strolling around this beautiful sea town, we will climb to the church on the hill above the town, where a magnificent cathedral, the church of Piran’s patron Saint George, stands. From there, the beauti-ful view of Piran and the surrounding area can be taken in, and even across the sea to the Croatian and the Italian coast.

Lunch will be served at a Mediterranean restaurant on the coast overlooking the sea. After lunch, we will walk towards fashionable Portoroz, where we can admire the luxurious hotels and beautiful sandy beaches. We will then drive back to Ljubljana, specifically to BTC City – a shopping, sports and cultural center on the out-skirts of Ljubljana. BTC City is the largest shopping center in Slovenia with specialized shops, supermarkets, and more than 450 stores. Free time. In addition to shopping, you will have the opportunity to visit the entertainment center Arena, where under one roof you have low endur-ance sports activities and programs for relaxation, shop-ping and film entertainment with educational and playful content. The amusement center covers an area of 9,000 m2.

The center includes a billiards and bowling center with its central entertainment center serving as the XPAND cinema with 3D stereoscopic projection, representing the most innovative tech-nology in the field cinematography in this part of Europe. This is the most modernly equipped cinema for digital projection in 3D and its dy-namic seats enable a new and unique experience on screen. Atlantis Water Park is also at your disposal for pam-pering you. This is a water park with a wide variety of facilities with dynamic architecture including a 15,000 m2 room for entertainment, relaxation, gathering new strength and recrea-tion. It also includes 16 swimming pools, three of which are outdoor, and offers visitors plenty of fun, adven-ture, and 15 thematic saunas. Late afternoon, transfer to hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 07 : AIRPORT JOTE PUCNIK

After breakfast, transfer to airport Joţe Pučnik.
